The brief for this project was to create a space that is modern and contemporary, with usage of natural materials as far as possible, so we considered marble as our base material and played around with that.
We used around three to four different types of marble to achieve the overall look. In one of the bathrooms, the highlight is the countertop that is made of Patagonia marble, whereas in other bathrooms it’s the floor pattern that is the standout element. The essential idea was to create eye-catching designs while also providing a sense of openness to the entire space.
Tips for a Balanced Design:
⦁ Monochrome designs are more classic and adaptive as compared to colourful rooms, so keep that in mind when selecting a design theme
⦁ Try to use neutral colour palettes for smaller spaces, as these can achieve a neat balance without seeming too drab
⦁ When working with mixed materials, remember that it is important to include multiple textures
⦁ If the vibe of the room is to keep things simple, then don’t add anything out of scale as it could ruin the look of your space
⦁ Adding one bright area can draw attention to that specific part of the room, taking away from the rest…which is something you would want to avoid
⦁ Lastly…don’t overdo it!
